About MyFuels Ignite Heatlogs

The journey of a Heatlog, from sawdust to your fireplace…

Collected Sawdust

Our Heatlog factory is located in the small town of Kumasi, around 250km from the Ghanaian capital, Accra. Producing over a million Heatlogs per year, we have over 50 employees, creating local job opportunities for a number of different roles.

Sawdust is swept and loaded into stacks from local units from the surrounding wood village and added to the sawdust already collected from the neighbouring sawmill.

Drier and Silo

Once screened, the sawdust is fed through a conveyor by a screw into the drying cylinder where it is slowly drawn down due to the airflow. The air is then heated with a fire created from burning waste firewood and Heatlog cut offs, ensuring there is no waste.

The fan draws the heated air, along with the dried sawdust, down the cylinder and feeds it back up a bucket conveyor and into the silo. Any smaller particles which may have previously been missed are blown into a cyclone before being taken into the silo, once again ensuring there is no waste.

Large Heatlogs

From the silo, the sawdust is transported by a screw conveyor and dropped into the extruders which are at extremely high temperatures, creating a large Heatlog which is stacked in pallets of 150 units before being chopped down by hand into 5 smaller pieces.

Heatlogs Palletised

Once the perfect size for all standard woodburners, stoves and chimeneas, the Heatlogs are bundled and shrink wrapped into retail packaging. They are then palletised and taken into the heat tunnel before being double wrapped and loaded into a container.

The containers then make their way from Ghana to the UK, via Holland, and arrive at our UK Headoffice in Enstone, Oxfordshire, ready to be unloaded. Packs of either 6 or 12 Heatlogs are safety stored in a dry environment readily available for customers to order.

Now sit back, relax and enjoy the lovely warmth produced by your eco-friendly Heatlog!
